  • JESUS PEOPLE DOING JESUS THINGS

We believe discipleship happens in everyday life as ordinary people follow Jesus together.

  • Restored DIscipleship Blog

You don’t have to have your whole life figured out to follow Jesus.

Discipleship isn’t perfection. It’s learning to walk with Jesus one day at a time.

I wanted to repost this almost 10 years after writing this: This one is for the memories and the lessons...Lesson 1... Look inside a person first As I write this blog today I do it with a very heavy heart and I know that there are many who are mourning the loss of a great friend and man......
  • Our Journey; Our Mission

Some people are exhausted because they’re trying to belong to two kingdoms at once.
Jesus still calls people into living out Kingdom values in all the places and faces God brings into our daily lives.

    What is Restored Discipleship?

On the night of January 31, 2013, our family made the decision to begin the journey of adoption.

After years of conversations, prayers, uncertainty, and waiting, we finally sensed God clearly calling us to take the next step. What we did not realize at the time was how deeply that journey would shape us over the years that followed.

The road was filled with beautiful moments, answered prayers, unexpected blessings, and memories we will never forget. But it was also marked by heartbreak, exhaustion, disappointment, spiritual struggle, and seasons that left us emotionally overwhelmed.

As a pastor and pastor’s family, we continued serving, loving people, preaching, leading, and ministering to others while quietly wrestling through some of the hardest moments of our own lives. We often wondered when God was going to give us room to breathe.

Looking back now, some of the greatest lessons we learned did not come from moments of strength, but from places of weakness, brokenness, and spiritual weariness. And honestly, those were the hardest lessons to recognize at the time.

Many of us have learned how to survive difficult seasons with polished Christian answers. We know the right things to say. We know the verses. We know how to smile, keep going, and convince ourselves that we are “doing OK.” But sometimes in the middle of all of that, we miss what God is actually trying to do within us. We miss the sacred space God has created for us to experience.

Through these experiences, God began teaching our family that discipleship is more than simply knowing about Jesus or feeling close to Him occasionally. Discipleship is learning to walk closely with Jesus every day through the power of the Holy Spirit — especially in the difficult seasons of life. Discipleship is learning that we are part of God’s Heavenly Kingdom on Earth - Now!

Discipleship is learning that Kingdom values should be the fruit we produce. Discipleship isn’t mass produced, it is handcrafted in the hands of our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.

And we are still learning. As our family continues learning what it means to follow Jesus faithfully — as parents, children, neighbors, friends, and disciples — we want to invite you to join us on the journey.

Restored Discipleship exists to encourage real people to pursue real faith in real life.

    Together we want to learn:

    • what it means to follow Jesus wholeheartedly,
    • how to grow through both joy and suffering,
    • how to live as Kingdom people,
    • and how to stay close to God even in seasons when life feels heavy.

These are the lessons we’ve learned along the way…and the lessons God is still teaching us today.

    Welcome to Restored Discipleship.
